Since the app does not transmit any personal data from your device, no data is transferred to the US or any other country.

Summary

Sleep Toll stores all data exclusively on your device. No personal data is transmitted to us or any third party. We do not operate servers, use analytics tools, or employ tracking technologies.

What We Read

Sleep Toll requests read-only access to your sleep duration data from Apple HealthKit. We never write data to HealthKit. We use this data for one purpose: calculating your rolling 30-day sleep debt.

Where Your Data Lives

All data stays on your device. Specifically:

• Sleep data is read from HealthKit, used to compute your sleep debt number, and kept in local storage only.
• Your preferences (sleep goal, notification settings) are stored in UserDefaults on your device.
• Your calculated sleep debt is shared with the Sleep Toll widget through a local app group container so the widget can display your current number. This never leaves your device.

There is no server. There are no user accounts. The app makes zero network calls beyond Apple's own system frameworks.

What We Don't Do

• We do not sell, share, or transmit your health data to anyone.
• We do not use your health data for advertising or data mining.
• We do not use third-party analytics, tracking SDKs, or any external services.
• We do not collect personal information of any kind.
• No device identifiers (no IDFA, no UUID)
• No location data, contacts, photos, or advertising IDs
• No IP addresses or keyboard inputs

Share Cards

Sleep Toll lets you generate a share card showing your sleep debt number. Sharing is entirely user-initiated — you choose when and where to share it, using the standard iOS share sheet. We have no visibility into what you share or with whom.

Notifications

The app can send local notifications (morning updates, weekly reports, smart alerts). These are generated on-device and are not sent through any external push service. No device token is transmitted to us. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings.

Premium Subscription

Sleep Toll offers an optional premium subscription handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not see, collect, or store any payment information. The purchase receipt is verified on-device. Apple's terms govern that transaction.

Apple Crash Reports

The app does not include any crash reporting services. Apple may collect anonymized crash reports via App Store Connect. These contain technical information (device type, iOS version, stack trace) but no personal data. You can control this in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.

Data Security

All local data is protected by Apple's file protection. Only the app has access to the stored data. Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all data.

Children

Sleep Toll is not directed at children under 16 and does not knowingly collect data from children.

Your Rights (GDPR)

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control:

• Access: All data is visible in the app.
• Erasure: Uninstall the app to permanently delete all data.
• Portability: Not applicable — no data is transmitted to us.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date.
